Eloy Contract Detention Facility

About our facility

The Eloy Detention Facility has housed individuals detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials since 1994. However, since February 2007 the medical care for detainees at the facility has been under the direction of the Division of Immigration Health Services (DIHS). Presently, the facility oversees a rapidly changing population of up to 1500 detainees from over 40 countries.

We are a dynamic facility staffed by an energetic team of Public Health Service officers and contract employees. Our busy ambulatory care clinic delivers primary care services to roughly 30,000 individuals each year.

Our ambulatory clinic operates 24hours/day, 7 days/week. Services include medical and mental health screening, management and surveillance of communicable diseases, acute and chronic care services, dental evaluation and treatment and mental health crisis intervention.

Our Location

Both visitors and residents alike are drawn to Eloy's year-round sunshine. Eloy is situated in Pinal County midway between Phoenix and Tucson. Its location allows for easy access to Arizona's two largest cities, as well as to many suburban communities, including Apache Junction, Chandler, Casa Grande, Gilbert, Mesa, Marana, Red Rock and Oro Valley.

Two major universities and several nationally recognized community colleges are located in the area. The Kyrene and Marana school districts, ranked within the top 10% among Arizona schools, are within commuting distance from the Eloy facility.
